Brainstorming - Nanotechnology Discussion

Presidential debate took much of my productive time, but I did not get any clear message, how and when war will end. Nevertheless, our goal is different. Lets talk about Nanotechnology. Nanotechnology has everything to do with the research of materials that are 1000 nanometers or less. Nanotechnology has existed in nature for a long period of time. For example when nature re-arranges atoms in carbon, we get diamonds or re-arranging sand atoms gives us silicon chips. Challenge is to take this Nanotechnology to manufacturing processes, pharmaceuticals and radically change the properties of our day-to-day things, medicines to work for us more efficiently end effectively than ever. As exciting this technology is, equally unpredictable is the time frame to achieve the desired results. Some scientists and researchers predict year 2020, when nanotechnology will begin to mature. Nanoindustries is an excellent resource, if you wish to further explore Nanotechnology. Next on our list is Biotech

Brainstorming - RFID Discussion

Radio Frequency ID tags or RFID Tags came into limelight when Walmart insisted their suppliers to have them by January 1st 2005. RFIDs have existed for few years and are used as security devices on Music CDs, Games CDs and DVDs and various other areas. There are however many unexplored areas where RFID solutions can be used. We are going to explore some of these areas for potential product and/or services that Businessworks Inc can provide. If we go with RFID based solutions, manufacturing RFIDs will not our goal as it can be prohibitively expensive. Our goal would consist of using RFIDs readily available and building custom solutions and sell it to Government and private organizations. This idea ranks very high in our potential list of technologies. Tomorrow I will discuss Nanotechnology.

Brainstorming...Part - II

What a day at work! In the words of my director "Another day in paradise!". That reminds me about the "paradise" that we are trying to build by taking our first step, brainstorming. Yesterday we listed few ingredients of a dotcom company. Next we need few technologies, that may be potentially considered for our business. Radio Frequency ID (RFID) based solutions Nanotechnology reinforced solutions Biotechnology assisted solutions I have shortlisted these three as they have excellent potential in near future. In future blog postings, I will discuss pros and cons of each of the three technologies and then select one for our company.

Brainstorming...Part - I

Brainstorming is always happening! While driving, at work, in conversations. However, if resulting ideas are not stored in a organized fashion, they are easily forgotten. I have been using a trial version of Personal Brain for organizing and storing my thoughts. So far it has helped me keep all my ideas secure on my laptop instead of my volatile memory. It not only stores the ideas but links them in a way that is unique. Back to our brainstorming about the business, company will conduct. As we have decided, Businessworks Inc. will be a dotcom company, business will be conducted online, probably selling services or products or both. Since many companies do similar business, Businessworks Inc has to do something unique, which sets them apart from other companies. So what are the ingredients of a Dotcom company? Let me list a few and invite you to add few others. A unique technology or a solution designed around that technology people, committed to make company a success. ventur

Introduction

This is an experiment about building a dotcom business (on paper) and then making it grow. It will be similar to "paper" stock trading in nature. I will go through the complete process of building a business, right from business structure selection to filing tax returns at the end of the year, in my novice way, stumbling and re-building all the way with the help of my fellow readers. Here is an initial agenda that I would follow in coming days: Organized brainstorming on various business ideas Researching three of those business ideas Selecting and evaluating one of the three business ideas. Be ready for the wild ride...
